Arcana Archetypes Archangels is a series of works still in production that shapes human experience through mythology, spirituality, memory and archetypal imagery. Working primarily with reclaimed MDF panels, drawing, painting and mixed media, José Almeida transforms industrial materials into contemplative surfaces that evoke sacred objects, relics and fragments of collective memory. His works combine references from religious iconography, Tarot, folklore and esoteric traditions, creating densely layered compositions where themes of transformation, mortality, transcendence and renewal converge. Through meticulous hand-drawn mark-making and a visual language rooted in both personal and universal symbolism, Almeida seeks to reveal the invisible narratives that connect the individual to broader cultural and spiritual histories.
